Started out in 2012 as a small coffee shop in Bandung, a capital city of West Java that specialized in Indonesian coffee beans.
Unlike Australian culture, at that time drinking coffee in Indonesia was not as hype compared to now. Stefanus Handy Hermawan, the owner of Jack Runner Roastery, who graduated from Swinburne University of Melbourne loved Aussie’s coffee culture and he missed this lifestyle when he went back to Indonesia. He saw this opportunity and he wanted to bring this culture to Indonesia.
So he pursued his passion for coffee by taking coffee courses in Melbourne, Australia.
He also took roasting course in Hong Kong. With his innovative ideas and dare to dream big, Jack Runner Roastery became one of coffeeshops and roastery pioneer in Indonesia.
As time goes by, and increasing demand in coffee lover, Handy wanted to not only “make” coffee but also sourcing the best selected green beans.
In 2019 he worked together with local farmers to source finest local Indonesian coffee beans to deliver higher standard roasted beans for coffee lovers.
